There is a car park directly opposite The Art Works on Courthouse Street. This costs £3.50 for 7 hours or £4 for 8-10 hours.

Materials required:

You will need a pencil and an eraser.

Paper: I recommend using good quality cold pressed or rough cotton paper as this will make the techniques used easier to achieve.

Watercolours:

Recommended colours-

French Ultramarine Blue

Cobalt Blue

Cadmium Red

English Red (also called Light Red)

Yellow Ochre

Burnt Umber

You will need a mixing palette,

Please don’t worry if you don’t have these exact colours, alternative colours will work fine. I will support you with this.

Ink:

Waterproof ink is essential for this workshop.

Fine liners pens are probably the most convenient option (eg. Micron Sakura or Uni Pin fine liners are both good quality and completely waterproof).

Using a dip pen with India Ink is another good option.

I will be drawing with a fountain pen filled with waterproof ink.

Brushes:

Whichever paintbrushes you feel most comfortable with will be fine as long as they are suitable for watercolour. Both synthetic and natural hair will work fine.

Other materials:

You will need a pencil and an eraser.

The following materials are useful but not essential: masking tape, kitchen roll, white ink or gouache.
